Humanities}, month = {}, note = {The concern with non-cognitive competence as the important element for young children has been growing in recent years in the field of early childhood education. But there is something unclear about the meaning and the characteristic of this competence. So, this paper examines one end of the significance of non-cognitive competence in the field of early childhood education through the reference to the theory of regimen by Kaibara Ekiken (1630-1714). Especially, this paper draw attention to an attitude to study of Ekiken. The study Ekiken’s theory of regimen means the acquisition of all arts for health. Also, the regimen doesn’t hold up if the learner put into practice what they have studied, each must practice and take flexible measures with every situation. The practical person whom Ekiken thought about, different an autonomous individual who have the guiding principle for the action in oneself, refer to the person who harmonize oneself the heaven that is the source of all life.
