| 内容記述 | This study outlines the educational significance of hospital classrooms in child psychiatric wards and the required teacher expertise, based on a review of Japanese literature. The number of these classrooms, typically operated as branches of special needs schools for the healthimpaired, is slowly growing. Their role has been formalized through legal development, following initial requests from the medical sector. The analysis identifies three primary functions of these classrooms: 1) offering a therapeutic and supportive environment for children’s psychological needs; 2) acting as a hub for multidisciplinary collaboration between medical and educational teams; and 3) serving as a vital “bridge” for students returning to their communities and schools post-discharge.To fulfill these roles, teachers require clinical observation skills, basic medical and psychological knowledge, a counseling mindset, and high-level coordination skills. The study also confirms a dynamic shift in the balance between medical and educational intervention over the course of hospitalization. Future priorities include expanding the system to the high school level, comparing the effectiveness of different operational models, developing operational guidelines, and creating modern programs alongside systematic teacher training. |
