| 内容記述 | Although Japan as a whole is facing challenges such as population decline and economic stagnation, in recent years many regions have been working on community revitalization and town development through tourism. For issues that cannot be resolved by local governments and residents alone, companies are increasingly taking part. This study focuses mainly on companies whose core business is not tourism, and aims to examine both the background to their involvement in addressing regional challenges through tourism businesses such as tour planning, operations, and accommodation. Specifically, we focus on the four actors (tourists, private companies, government, and local residents) that make up the "tourism business structure" presented by Sasage (2008) and Takahashi (2017), and argue that the involvement of companies from different industries in tourism is flourishing against the backdrop of changes in their respective circumstances. | |||||||||||
