| 内容記述 | This study examined the relationship between mentalization and appreciation in Japanese adolescence. The participants of 181 students (ratio of valid responses 96.8%) responded to the mentalization questionnaire (MQ) and Japanese Appreciation Inventory (JAI). “Understanding one's own emotions” representing the developmental state of mentalization of self was positively related to the positive emotional experience of appreciation and the tendency to express it. In addition, both factors representing the developmental state of mentalization of others were positively related to “return”. The analysis based on the typology of mentalization suggests that the developmental state of mentalization may be reflected in the three Japanese appreciation factors “( existence“”return“”co-existence with joy and a feeling of indebtedness”). These results were useful research to assist in psychological assessment and clinical psychological support focusing on the development of mentalization. | |||||||||||||||||
