1. In the mainstream of the Kinu river, the pH value is 6.8 ~ 8.4. In the upper reaches, it shows neutrality of weak acidity; in the middle and lower reaches, it shows neutrality or weak alkalinity. In the tributaries, the pH value is 6.8 ~ 8.0. In the branches entering the mainstream in the upper reaches, it shows alkalinity. In the ones entering in the middle reaches, it shows weak acidity and weak alkalinity (6.8 ~ 8.0). 2. The electric conductivity of the mainstream is 98.8 ~ 302μ℧/cm. In the upper reaches, it shows the low value, but the further down steam we go, the higher value it shows. In the branches, the electric conductivity is 71.9 ~ 364μ℧/cm. In the Otani river, which flows from the Lake Chuzenji in Nikko, it is 168μ℧/cm (No.38) and 154μ℧/cm (No.34) In the branches flowing into the mainstream in the lower reaches, it shows 300μ℧/cm or more. 3. In the mainstream, the content of ions is low value, but further down stream we go, the higher values it shows. In the branches, it is low value in the upper steam and is high in the lower stream. 4. The load of ions is value in the upper stream and high values in the lower stream, especially the values at Sakae bridge, Komashiro bridge and Ogata bridge are high. In the tributaries, the Tagawa river and the Otani river show high values. 5. The dam, lake and hot-springs in the upriver have little effect on the water quality of the Kinu. On the basis of the date on load values, the farming, areas, an industrial zone and urban districts have a great influence on it. |
