| 内容記述 | This study aimed to clarify the characteristics and position of apathy research among university students in Japan by comparing the differences between apathy research overseas and in Japan. Beginning with Walters’ report (1961), this article provides an overview of the changes in apathy research from the 1960s to the present, both in Japan and abroad. The results showed that overseas studies on apathy were not develop specifically for university students; rather, they viewed apathy as a symptom observed in specific patients in clinical settings. On the other hand,Japanese studies on apathy regarded apathy as specific to university students. First, it was considered to occur only in male university students, but this perception changed when apathy was susceptible to anyone, male or female, among the general student population. In addition, there was a mixture of Student Apathy, a selective decrease in academic motivation, and Depressive Apathy, a general decrease in motivation in daily life. Compared to overseas research on apathy, Japan’s subjects and difinitions are vague and difficult to understand. In order to resolve this opacity, it was deemed necessary to focus on Student Apathy’s unique psychological state, which is not observed in depressive apathy. | |||||||||
