内容記述 Establishing a time perspective is one of the developmental tasks of adolescents. Establishing a future outlook based on an understanding of one’s own characteristics and aptitudes leads to more appropriate self-formation (acquisition of ego-identity). In this paper, the author conducted a questionnaire on future planning among 170 entering university students (124 females and 46 males) in order to help them in their self-formation. The content of the questionnaire was also examined in relation to the admission policy of the university.
 As a result, the students were able to envision the near future, such as finding a job after graduating from university or getting married in their late 20s, but they did not have a clear vision of the future in terms of working after having children or caring for their parents. In addition, there was a partial relationship between the keywords in the admission policy of the department and the students’ consciousness at the time of admission.
 In the future, it will be helpful for the students to review their future plans in light of the educational policy of the department at each milestone of their student life for better self-formation. In this study, the author only examined the tendency of the students from the results of the questionnaire, but in order to analyze the results in more detail, it would be useful to examine the relationship with future plans using psychological indicators to understand the students.
