The purpose of this study is to explore and better understand university studentsʼ perception and awareness of disability. Quantitative text analysis was conducted on free-form survey responses written by university students studying the welfare of persons with disabilities. As a result of the analysis, the content was classified into four types according to the way the students referred to the pros and cons of disability. Also, when the clusters extracted through text mining were sorted out, the study suggested that the students searched their own opinions and points of view about disability issues and increased their eagerness to enhance their understanding of the topic, as they reflected upon their personal experience during their year studying welfare and disability support. |
