| 内容記述 | This report is one part of what the author has produced for the mathematical education classes since 1997. In this paper the focus is on two themes: one is "Selection of the best charge plan for my cell phone use" and the other is "Compound interest on banking: savings, loan, pension". The purposes of the two themes are to let the students recognize the usefulness of mathematics for life and to recognize the importance of being diligent and economical. Having read the reports from the students, it can be said that both purposes are basically achieved. The following are what the author has noticed about the reports during these years. Careful examination on the data is expected for the students when materials are given. Basic mathematics is not satisfactorily understood. For educational strategy, some kind of investigation is needed. The reports utilizing computer software EXCEL have been increasing. There are still some cases without sufficient check of the input data. Reports should carry more discussion than smart calculation results. | |||||||||||
