The present study was conducted to measure the image of university students with regard to "beauty in mathematical proofs". An SD-method questionnaire consisting of seventeen items was administered to 76 university students. The responses were factor analyzed. The results showed that five factors affecting images of university students were succinctness in proof, grandeur of development, unexpectedness of technique, cleverness in proof and solution of problems. |
